In this edition of the Summer Series we have Eden Bidani share her summer plans about taking time off, reading books and how she’s preparing for some conference talks later this year.

This summer is set to be an interesting one. I’ll be taking some time off during August to recharge and spend time with my family while they’re on summer vacation – the first time I’ve done properly for a good long while!
That might sound a bit crazy, but as a solopreneur, juggling a growing business and a growing family often resulted in making sacrifices one way or another. So I’m feeling very blessed to be able to take some time off properly this year.
The time won’t be completely free of work, though. I’m looking forward to catching up on reading (my Kindle is quite fat with unread titles!) and doing some light preparation for upcoming events, namely How To Web, Conversion Hotel, and Experimentation Elite.
One book I’m looking forward to tucking into is “Don’t Make Me Think: A Common Sense Based Approach to Web Usability” by Steve Krug. The deeper I get into the work that I do, the more it’s becoming obvious that it’s how the information is structured and presented on a page is just as important – and in some cases, even more important – than the actual words we use to share the information. It’s fascinating!
To prep for the talks, I’ll be working on the concepts and the flow of each talk – even just by jotting down notes on my phone. That always helps me organize my ideas more clearly (and means I’m not starting from scratch!) when I sit down to hash out the actual presentation.
Thank you Eden, for sharing your summer stories.
